I've been slowly working my way through the rust on my new disco and now need to get behind the black sill cover, Can anyone tell me if you can re use or buy new bits to fasten them on? I'd rather have new ones unless someone can tell me how to get em off in one piece, so far i've failed.
Once off I intend to take back to bare metal (where rusted) paint and then cover the lot in underseal unless you guys say different.:D
 
ya have to push the middles of the flat head fixing studs out if ya careful ya can reuse them i got rid of mine as they hold ****e against the sills

If its a 5 door - drivers seat frame.
if its a 300TDi then headlights and surrounds.
has it got good shocks?

Took mine off last night and not bad, just a few spots around the existing holes where the paint is bubbled where the rust is starting so wire brushed it off, Kurust'd it and painted it.
 
Don't know if its any use to anyone, but instead of buying new ones everytime, we use a piece of hollow carbon rod out of a kite, then you can spray waxoyl through it, or stick a fine screw in it, and pull them out :)
