Going to clean up my intercooler at the weekend, as not sure when or if it has ever been done, but my question is regarding the hoses - is there any real benefit to upgrade the 3 hoses to silicone ones and if so, are they all the same, as the prices range from £40 to silly money......

I don't think there is anything wrong with the ones I have on, as changed one about a year ago when I took of the EGR, but after 15 odd years, I cannot imagine they are in the best of nick

Is it just these 3 pipes to change..(this kit is 4 ply and is £77.00 which includes the clips - is that a good price?)



or are there any others I need to look at, as if I am buying some, makes sense to get a 'full' kit.

I just did mine on a 300tdi, easy job. If you rev the engine from under the bonnet and watch the intercooler hoses you'll see why, they balloon under the pressure, which gives more turbo lag, also they can break down over time.
It was just the 3 hoses for mine, which also does away with the old EGR pipe.
Besides, they look nicer too!

Where did you get yours from?

Paddocks or Craddocks (they sound the same) terrafirma ones and came to about £51 before vodka & tonic.
