Anyone have a problem with the side mirror arm. Was driving around 80mph and left one decided to give up on the motorway. Few months back same thing happened to the right one.

what do you mean give up? fall off or jsut flap about?

Mine kept flapping in, but you can adjust the spring tension, after a re-grease and adjustment (tightening) no problem anymore

Tightening? I thought there is only one bolt under the mirror to lock the glass. How do u adjust and tighten the arm?

look underneath it, there is an allen bolt IIRC that you can tighten, it was ages ago i did mine, i can go and look in a minute, that might be the tightening of the actual mirror rather than the arm.

Ohh that’s the nut im referring to. That’s just locking the mirror. But mine the actual arm is flapping.

yep i definitely adjsuted my arm, i cant recall how, will go lock in a minute, it was a while ago

Might be your speedo that needs ajusting, not your mirrors, 80 mph ?. People cant travel that fast, all the air would be sucked out of your lungs you would suffocate. If a landy ever reached that incredible speed, it would kill you and fall apart. At best your eyes would bleed and ears drums pop. You may have been on the point of total landy disintegration when your mirrors folded 65.333 mph terminal velosity speed.

I got to 80mph once in mine. It was on the back of a break down vehicle at the time .

Mine is the complete opposite of yours. My mirrors are stuck and it only goes 55mph
If you're getting it flapping the fixing in the hinge is probably loose?

The arm is spring loaded - it allows you to fold the mirrors in easily when you're green laning/squeezing in between lorries.
As for 80mph - I expect the next post to be about a blown head gasket

Isn’t the adjuster for the folding part next to the hinge mounts? I’m sure it’s a square plastic cover on the top of the hinge (I think it is on mine). Pop the cover off and tighten it up. Mine are almost locked up because I was sick of ****s pushing past parked cars and ****ting the mirror arms round.
