Hello,

I am about to tidy up the rear load space of my 90. My intention is to create a stealth camper. I would like to ply line and carpet the back with recesses for the windows and then create a small bed area at the back to give enough space for a quick, comfortable kip and some storage space beneath. I am after as many photos of the back of your 90's (or 110's for that matter) that I can get solely for inspiration, so get em in!

Only way to kip in 90 is to make a bed level with the top of the internal bulkhead. Then have a fold out flap that extends into the front cab area.

I did just that two years ago, it worked quite well apart from everyone being able to see straight in at me! I might make something similar again that folds away nicely.

Ply lined and then covered with rubber chequer plate flooring material. The spare wheel and tools etc are under the load bed. No room for sleeping in mine though.

It was moved down a bit after that, i hadnt accounted for the airbed being on top if it

@Waldefshelf, where did you get the chequer plate matting??? been tryinng to get it at a reasonable price for a good while now

I got it from a place in Barnsley called KDA, Machine mart sell it although I'm not sure how much they charge? Do they have branches in your neck of the woods?

That's mine. Carpeting on wheelboxes, boarded out the sides with more carpet. Full headlining and rear above-door trim as well as rear 1/4-light trims from a S/W vehicle. And a rubber mat for the floor. Saw not compulsory...

Built a sleeper in my last disco that was sweet

Just bought a 110 hardtop thats all ply lined ready to be played with.... plan on a sofa / bed, small kitchen and fridge.

Anyone set up leisure batteries in a defender??

Just last night i mounted two hammocks and a small 'kitchen' in my 90. Works very well and looks pretty awesome i reckon. The hammocks were mounted on either side above the seats and fastened in using the existing bolts around the roof. The kitchen is in a British Army Laycon box (sturdy aluminium suitcase type thing) bolted to the back door so that when the lid is folded down there is a gas burner, water container, plates, pots, pans etc...
Very simple to do and very effective.
