Aftnoon all. Use my 2.5 n/a everyday about 30 miles but just today I've noticed started up from cold I've got cloud of blue smoke(oil) until I give it some accelerator then clears up abit. Once I've started driveing its quite heavy black smoke which is expected but I've never noticed it this bad. Once its warmed up going a few hills couple of mins its fine. I'm guessing its taking longer to warm up and ive only owned this.scince June so am I right here saying its just cold and smoking or is there anything more serious going I.e piston rings or what? Thanks, Max

Sounds normal to me, but an oil change and filter change wouldn't do any harm, how long since you last did it ?

Ok cheers. About 4months ago when I got it did all the filters and oil change.

I have a 110 with the 2.5na and it's the same
It's an ex mod recon in 2008 with 76000km it smokes when cold,
It's more alarming at night when you can see the smoke in the headlights of following cars,
Most diesels smoke, I had a c4 hdi with the particulate filter and you could see a similar haze at night when putting the pedal down

Don't worry about it until/unless you start getting constant black smoke.

My 110 N/a doesn't smoke apart from a little puff when she is started from cold, and then she is clean. But there again, she's only done around 170,600 miles!
