Finished work today & thought i would weld in one of my replacement floor supports as you do, brilliant positioned & welded no probs. Not so brilliant when offering up the brake pipe bracket up ready for welding you suddenly feel a wet feeling on your hand, bugger it i had sheared the brake pipe which goes from the bracket towards the front of the vehicle (by this time it was dark & frankly i was a trifle upset) Does anyone know what pipe this is & approx how much :(:(:(
 
Easiest way to replace metal brake pipes is to get some copper pipe and a flaring tool and make it yourself. It's not expensive or difficult and once you've done it you'll realise what a rip off it is having such a job done by a garage.
 
cheers for the quick replies, have seen a couple of brake pipe flaring & pipe bending kits on flea bay that seem reasonable, do you know whether metric or imperial fittings are used on discos
 
i think for the amount i will use it i'll be going for a cheaper kit, do you need to use springs when bending the pipe?

As above, try and bend round something circular if you have no pipe bender, and use your old fittings for the ends.
I picked my pipe benders up in JTF, same as Frost etc but a lot cheaper, use copper pipe , steel is difficult to bend and flare and also rusts.:)
