Hey,

When my discovery shifts to the fourth gear(85 km/h-110 km/h) , it starts to shake badly. and its back to notmal after 120km/h

Any one???

get ya wheels balanced. and have the tracking checked. Oh and slow down a bit..

75mph is not going to be the most economical speed, although I imagine UAE fuel is cheper than UK?

I was thinking more air turbulence/engine vibration than fuel economy.

Though to be honest me brain hadn't registered the Km/Hr bit :doh:

hahah.. it's roughly about 1 quid per us gallon.
btw. do you think it could be the rear axle?? i had my rubber coupling changed few months back and the old one was mothered up real bad

If the coupling was mullered then also check the UJ's and wheel bearings. Redhand was right about the tyres, and if they have been unbalanced enough to cause shaking then it's possible that any bearings on the drivetrain could be shagged too.

A=frame joint can also cause problems, so check this and the suspension bushes.

done the wheel balancing and the shaking still persist....

Try track rod ball joints. Mate had the same problem as your's was convinced it was the swivels and was all ready to swap them when we discovered the LH trackrod end was knackered. Replaced it and it cured the problem straight away.

Well, it's you that can hear and feel the shaking and only you can tell anyone where it's coming from .....

So. if you think it's from the rear, then check all the bushes in the rear suspension including the A-frame, wheel bearings, Prop UJ and rubber doughnut, prop slide joint, transfer box and diff output/input flanges and half-shafts. Are the wheels on properly, nuts tight, tyres inflated properly etc

All need to be checked for wear and/or stiffness.
