hey guys . i am trying to replace the three springs on the syncro clutch . book says i need to split all of the box and transfer case to remove the bell housing . is there an easy way to remove the bell housing without splitting the box and transfer case ?

you dont need to split the g/box and t/box, undo the 3 bolts and 4 nuts holding front cover ,remove lay shaft bolt, then undo the 4 nuts/bolts holding bell housing on and tap bolts out, bell housing will knock and wiggle off, you will need to remove box top and 3/4th selector to allow 3/4th synchro hub to slide off main shaft, synchro hub has a recess one end thats the end that must face 3rd gear when refitting

got it . lot easier . just found out i also have the lay shaft split ring is broken in 6 pieces . good job i saw that now . cheers again .

Theres a circlip on the main input shaft and nust a bolt on the layshaft. Does a series 2 have the same arrangement?
