2.25 petrol engine with rattle on rev from the engine. tappets gapped correctly timing set properly. any ideas?
 
mine has cam-follower rattle. If yu adjust the tappets - yu can feel a "click" on the rocker, as the engine is turned. easy way to check without strip down. To replace cam followers, rollers and sliders - about £6.00 a throw.

Why doesn't someone tell him not to be such a smart arse as to ask a question that is bound to lead only to sensible replies thus cutting out the fun factor?
 
ok it is the engine monkeys, they rattle when they are hungry, now go ram some bananas down your oil filler
