Hi Folks i originally posted in hte series forum, and had some really good advice. But i was wondering if anyone can help with the problem.
I have a series 3 which had 2.25 diesel in it that died shortly after i bought it ( for my better half). i am fitting a 19j ( earlier version sadly) but repalcing the pistons hot spots bottom end bearings etc. i have fitted an electric fan to get it in.
My question is we would like it to last and I am wary of the reputation of this engine. Does a 19j normally have an oil cooler? if so will I need to add this and if so any advice on what to fit and how to go about it would be very gratefully received, and also other advice to get some longevity out of the engine. Its not going to be worked especially hard.
Many thanks
