can anyone tell me the best way to secure your disco from the scally wags.
i.e. pedal locks etc and the places to find this stuff ?.mine is an auto

Do Landrovers get stolen Fook that's a new one on me. I don't think anyone has ever mentioned that on here??

Whats the type of gearbox got to do with it? If u don't have an alarm or immobilising system fitted to your disco, fit one. All uk spec disco are fitted with such a system.

the D2 anti-theft system is very safe though... it's so safe that it used quite often to not let even the owner to get in or start the car :D ... but if you want to reinforce it wire in a serial small hidden switch in the ECU feed circuit

As above , D2 and even 300 tdi discovery Standard alarm and immobilisers are very good and your average scally wag IS NOT goint to just take one .

A professional thief might although they are unlikely to go for 300 Tdi s now ..

the first thing you should do with a D2 is check how many keys are sync'd to the car and delete any you dont have ..

By far the most common way for a D2 or any modern car for that matter to be stolen is on the key , either stolen from your home or kept back by a previous owner ..

so dont worry to much about spending money on anti theft devices you'll need it for repairs .

Christ they are hard enough to start with the key lol

if it is a facelift with the tacky headlights they need securing though ..

a good tug and they can and will be removed in seconds .

this is becoming a very big problem especially in the midlands and nothern england

Move house to Austria

Never heard about a stolen Landrover nearby, let alone any old D2, not worth the trouble and a lot of newer motors around!!

I know... I know... old post...
I was thinking of adding a hidden mini toggle switch that cuts off power to the fuel pump relay for my D2's V8.
