Thanks grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, had a questions and answers session with Mr teacher himself, good advice. I'll be repairing the originals and uprating the thermostats to 65°, that is if I can repair them. Not been in there yet. So there could be other problems. Watch this space... There are plenty of kits similar to dopeys mats that come with wiring, relays and switches. May be tempted to fit them in the rear seats for the kid's and the wife's car.

Waiting for the rain to stop so i can pull my drivers seat apart its not getting hot i think the stat has failed as the seat elements check out on the multi meter

Normal hot seat restored the stat read OK I checked everything else no faults found so I swopped the stat out anyways it looked a tiny bit squashed so I cut a bit more foam out of the base and buried it a bit deeper.

Job done it was warming up nice on the driveway going to go for a proper test drive later to make sure the stat is cycling on and off correctly.

Just waiting for my temp thermostats to turn up, bought the 65º units to turn up and then I'll be fixing the buggers!;)

We'll that was fücking disappointing..
The new thermostats don't work. Did a continuity test on the both of them and nothing... Luckily my lower seat heater mat had what looked like a cigarette burn in it. Soldiered it back together and the circuit was complete.. continuity tested my own thermostat and circuit it reads .13 ohms. 0.01 ohm being my leads.
Put it back together. And... It is rubbish....

Ouch!

Ouch it was. If it fails again I'll do what dopey did and fit a new complete mat instead.:(
Oh and buy some thermostats that work:mad:

Sounds like you got the wrong stats the p38 uses n/c or normally closed stats if they read open then you have n/o stats so they won't heat up
