Replace the hog rings with cable ties uprate the stat while your doing it
Aha! Tis' a question I'd like to ask..
If i remember, you uprated yours didn't you?
If so, what and where from please teacher

I Just fixed my existing one you can upgrade to newer type off the bay cheap enuff but no real need

Did you use a higher rated thermostat then the original?

No mate. That was still working. I just repaired the broken track in the seat join and put it back together.
