Hi,
I'm after a set of seat covers for my Disco II but there seems to be a fair bit of choice, - not used to this, I had no choice with the shogun as it had side airbags which required special seat covers :( .. I'm just wondering what people would recommend?

Ive seen the Brit part (3 separate parts - £59.00 for the front set) seat covers, and the all in one covers which are for sale on ebay "Land Rover Emergency Loose Fit Waterproof Seat Cover £17.00"http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rove...&otn=4&po=LVI&ps=63&clkid=6236710412204272280 I'm guessing the arm rests become unusable with these though unless you cut them perhaps.

Not sure which ones to go for, can someone point me in the right direction please.. not looking to spend a fortune on seat covers, only need some for the front seats - black preferably. :)

cheers.

Anyone know if the "Land Rover Emergency Loose Fit Waterproof Seat Cover £17.00" will fit properly on a discovery 2 seat?

Exmoor trim are the best , otherwise save your money and get a heavy duty one size fits all from a farm or truck factors

umm.. shall check out exmoor trim, thanks.

Are some seat covers "not suitable for leather seats" I noticed on the brit part website on the product page:

DA2800BLACK
Waterproof seat covers - Black - DA2800BLACK - Land Rover Parts Catalogue
Discovery 2
Waterproof seat covers - Black
2 x Full seat
2 x Headrest
2 x Armrest
Note - not suitable for leather seats

 I didn't think leather seats needed special seat covers.. anyone know why/ anything I need to be aware of regarding some seat covers and leather seats? Does it make a difference that they are heated seats? (can't see that it should, but worth asking)..?

thanks.

This one confused me when I first got a D1 . Later I found that the ES can come with RRC style leather seats that are marginally different in shape , but the covers would have to be a very good fit for it to matter .As for the arm rests , I am yet to see a D1 with any . I have owned 8 and seen many more......none yet . Could well be out there somewhere . The exmoor trim set by the way are VERY close fitting so the leather seat issue would be valid....I try to avoid much of britparts product line but for some notable exceptions so wouldnt know about theirs . I DO know that the people at Exmoor used to work at the LR upholstery shop and left with sets of drawings .

Thanks shocker, cleared a few things up.. shall explore the exmoor route and see what they can do for me, to be honest I'm not after anything special, just after something which can be removed in seconds, rather than the Brit part (3 part seat covers) which seem a bit of a faff tbh.
cheers.

Go to a truck factors , van supply or farm place , get a general purpose . Unless you are wanting a glove tight fit these will do the job and cost a fraction . Most of the "specialist" ones dont fit properly anyway and cost a fortune so I reckon that if you are going to spend big money they should be spot on , thus exmoor . All these places that say they do covers for any vehicle are ****e . Saying that , the good fit means it dont come off fast , so you are back to the truck or even better , tractor ones - several sizes fit all , they wont be surprised at it needing to fit a landy either ! And cheaper , too .

PS - 16 AA or P Reg ?

Just to update this thread (I hate to leave a thread dead in it's tracks)

I took "shocker's" advice and went to my local automotive store, they sorted me out with a waterproof seat cover for around £24 and it fits nicely in my Disco2.

It has Velcro on the sides which is ideal as my seats have arm rests, doesn't slip, and only takes a few minutes to fit which is ideal.

Thanks for the advice! :D

They're okay, but over a long drive, won't you get sweaty arse syndrome? Isn't it easier just to let them get a bit mucky and then clean them occasionally if the mother in law is getting in? Or just use a feed bag?

Or am I being a bit too agricultural?

Only if you forget to turn the heated seats off ;)
Honestly I couldn't tell you, my place of work is only 8 miles away and I don't travel great distances, if I do I don't often have the need for the seat cover. - Time will tell.. if it does, I shall report back and tell you all about my sweaty back side experience!

One thinks so, More suited to the defender perhaps ;) or am I just too snotty nosed :p
