Tried one of those online sites that buy 'unwanted' motors today. They quoted £160 for my Disco (MoT failure), that's if they collect it, if I take it to one of their yards I can get as much as £110

Is it really only worth that as scrap value?

scrap weight yes , a LZ member will have it if it runs though , if you were closer id give upto £350 for a disco , they go anywhere from £300-700 as scrap

That's what I thought, not the scrap price though obviously. It does run and drives but the Ministry do not think it is road worthy... :(

if you look at my post ( and perhaps acknowledge it) you will see figures for the value of a rotten running disco

I did ;) but those other buggers replies came up quicker than I could type mine

Reminder to self - do not ignore the yellowperil :p

Brake it for spares if you can.

Axles, gearbox, engine alone will add up more than to the scrap value you have been offered.

I just paid nearly what you have been offered for a back axle.

You have over 50 posts put it in the for sale section on here for offers or some ink

My brother just got £160 for a f**k old vectra none runner picked up

Cheers for all suggestions. Just wish I had time and space to break it myself as this seems the better option for getting the most money back from it.

cant think of life without my old disco.
itsa builders van, tow car and when cleaned out, a 7 seater....
