believe i read about this previously you think the cheque clears but its cancelled they end up with your car and cash you fwd.
 
it's an oldie, and yes, cheque "clears", they get the car and the "excess" cash you paid over for shipping. They've obviously run out of ideas!
 
As the others say, don't touch it...

They send (or get someone to give you) a Bankers Draft, most people treat these as cleared funds, so immediately release the vehicle, either to the person collecting it, or by shipping it whereever they want... The Bankers Draft then comes back as stolen or as a forgery and you end up out of pocket for the shipping, the excess that they "accidentally" give you in the Bankers Draft plus you lose the vehicle too....

Robbing B**tards.....

No bugger would have a car of mine until I had cash in my hand. Perhaps I am old fashioned in that respect but I just don't trust it.

Problem is, you could pay it into your account, and your Bank would allow funds to be drawn against it... Then weeks later, once you've weighed out the excess, shipped the car and released yours, your Bank could come back to you and tell you the Draft was stolen and demand reimbursement.... Then you are out of pocket.....
 
Some people obviously fall for it - greed takes over when they see the excess money on the Bankers Draft - bit like the 419 scam emails you get that promise you a pile of cash for allowing a dead politicians (general/oil mogul/art dealer/Surgeon **delete as appropriate**) family to use your Bank Account to retrieve a load of hidden funds that a government are trying to steal......
 
'tis a scam t'be sure. contact the seller back and ask what part of cash on collection he doesn't understand. Course, if you've nothing better to do, you could start stringing him along with moody details, or register his email address to get as much spam as possible, but maybe you've better things to do with your time
 
do this now, contact your local police station and or scotland yard internet fraud dept, they will give you an address to forward the mail, you need to forward the whole mail and a copy of the header so they can trace the origin. also tell your ISP and/or email account provider. report also to western union.

dont worry if you dont get a reply from any of the mails you report to as they get loads but it is important to report it as they are watching all the scammers and need every bit of info!!!

also tell your bank of the scam as they may not be aware of that particular person.

all this will help others stay protected as there is a fraud detection/prevention network an most if not all financial institutions are motitoring these scams!!

and do send the **** an email and let him know you have reported his silly scam and point him to the english dictionary!!!

****s think us brits are completely dumb!!!
