my sat nav on my 05 freelander hse has stopped working, a cd symbol flashes on and off and next to the compass arrow it says off road!! Any ideas what's wrong? Any help would be gratefully received!

Could be the cd drive faulty. Do have a test disk to confirm cd drive failing.

I have tried a normal music cd and that works fine, so I'm puzzled.

Check the satnav disk itself for scratches as bumpy journey can cause cd to flex as it spins when hot. Pending on the age of disk drive could be tired.

Hi all. Just signed up so I can tell you I had the same problem and it was/is a common software fault. The Radio/satnav needs resetting. I've got the reset instructions somewhere? If you can't find them online, I'll try to dig them up.
Sorry, I should have said, I think that is the problem.
Just had a look online and the reset instructions are on "myFreelander.co.uk" under "Electrical Problems." hope that helps.
