Found a series 1 lwb truck cab on a mates farm, seems complete but cant see the chassis due to the amount of undergrowth. What would you offer?

Nigel.

£200 MAX as it will need a chassis and a bulkhead restoration if your lucky the engine won't be ****ed, what year is it and what engine has it got in it?

Petrol, 1958 as far as I know. It's in a lean to barn so had no rain on it, was in use until parked up. Belonged to mates father, he died and the vehicle was never used again. Key still in ignition, last used in late seventies. Now covered in brambles and a thick layer of dust from the grain dryer.

if it has its original inlet over exhaust engine (often referred to as the side valve) and it starts its worth a bit more if it still has all its original fittings and fixings its worth a bit more still (check the tail lights off the top od me head they should be the D shaped units with the little bar that separates the indicator from the sidelight/brake light these are nigh on impossible to get hold of

Thanks g-man, will get the scythe out and do a proper inspection. I do know it was never robbed for spares as nobody went near it after the old man died, so should be complete.

given a new battery and some fresh petrol it will most likely fire up (after checking all the fluid levels are correct)

sounds awesome, get it! hopefully the layer of dust has protected the paintwork. get some photos up on here.

saw one the other week pulling a caravan around the M42, made me smile :D

I also saw an old Series 1 towing a caravan down the M42 a few months back - was quite a young looking chap too, maximum respect :)

Deal has been done, wont touch it until the spring time and warmer weather. It's ok where it is until then, its just too bloody cold to be faffing about this time of the year. Will put some pics up when I have a proper internet connection, my pay as you go dongle doesn't like/cannot upload pics.
