Was having a chat this afternoon to a local farmer who has a 2012 Defender with 9000 on the clock. he has had it from new.
I was surprised to hear his comments about the quality of his motor which has a "Rust" hole about 3" diameter in the drivers side rear quarter panel just in front of the rear wheel and the gearstick is unbelievably sloppy, so much so that it can be moved in a circle !!

I thought that only the Rangies , Disco's & Hippos had severe build problems until recently but obviously not. Surely 2 years is a bit premature for a workhorse ??
He tells me that it is serviced as per the schedule by Conway Land Rover (Main Stealer) who he has dealt with for years and has been changing his motors on a 3 year cycle with them.
