yeah , put the head on a carpet tile in the bench, then a socket over the washer, one good hard strike shocks the collets off the stems, then collect the bits and note ther position.

and fer **** sake dunt miss with the 'ammer, it could be costly, once yer done one its easy

right so i better not then right so im gonna have to pick up heads and head in other direction 50 miles to get something to remove then yeah

and do these collets and springs go back in easy nothing will break will it?

nope nothing brakes, if a spring brakes ( one in a million) it is better it brakes now than when its running ! collets are ok , make sure yer reseat / grind in the valves tho !

this is the furthest into an engine i have ever been lol im only doing tit cause i have not got the money to repair but its been costly to do anyway

i have 2 big rubber rings as well bout 50mm what these for? and like 3 small copper gaskets?circular bout inch round?

A worn valve seat is very shiny (looks like chrome) but has black pits in it. When you lap a valve correctly, the valve grinding compound grinds the valve seat surface of the valve and the head. These shiny surfaces will turn a dull color. When the dull encircles the entire ring, then the valve is lapped. All the black pits must also turn the dull color.

There are course and fine grit grinding compounds. you will need to get a valve grinding stick £1, some paste £2.50 get course and fine , google valve grinding thers loads of vids etc showing how to do it propperly

right will get this stuff at halfords then? stck/paste looks like tomorrows job is doing this then
