My rear 110 crossmember that holds the A frame gave up the ghost at the weekend, both sides completely rotted away and the whole lot dropped down and was clattering about on the rear prop shaft :mad:

Any kind bod tell me if this crossmember is changable/available to buy ???????

I have a mint Range Rover chassis could I chop that one out and re-use on my 110 ???

I'm quite a good welder but it looks a right bastid to get at and weld, that's if I can find somthing to weld to!! Rest of the chassis not too bad but would love to change it for a galvanised one but just not got the time at the moment.

Not aware that you can buy, as usually once that cross member has gone so has the rest:(

Don't know if one of the firms that makes replacement chassis could supply - not been able to find a part number
 
Cheers Matey ! Strange as it's the worst rotten bit (rear x member already been changed) on the whole chassis !

Thought as much :mad: Looks like I might have to weld somthing up short term as even if I do go for a new chassis there's no way I want to pay £390 + vat delivery to France :eek:
 
Exhaust,rear-prop, A-frame all off with out any problems.

Cross member not attached to chassis anymore but I can get the bastid off :mad:

How easy it it to get the rear floor out for better access ??
 
Either drill the weld out (5mm bit) or grind the lot off. I replaced my floor and used 6mm bolts to fasten the new one down.
 
Range Rover A frame crossmember chopped out (they are the same) of spare chassis I had kicking around and welded in place of old well rotten one in me 110.

Reight bastid of a job but am well happy I've sorted it and won't be under the fecking thing again for a while (touch wood :D )
 
Check imaculate 25 year old French RR chassis that's never seen salt, they don't grit here (much) !
