I have some of those things on the list...but many I didn't so definitely helps, thanks! Its only a 5 day short expedition, but often the most obvious things are overlooked so thanks! :)

Phrase books and some cards with "My Land Rover has broken down again" in as many eastern european languages as you might need for the countries you'll be crossing.

Check your documents, then check your documents and finally, check your documents. Saved me a lot of grief when we were stopped for checks in Poland and Lithuania recently.

tyre repair kit, a air pump, wheel bearings, uj's a good tool kit for road repair's. repair manual, extra fuel filter, fuses, maybe even axles, brake parts.

Just seen on euronews on sat telly that parts of Romainia have suffered badly with flooding in the mountainous / hilly regions,
also it showed parts of serbia.
road bridges cut / lost to flood water, homes swept away,
looked like big trees been pushed down mountainous roads and the like..
sorry but never caught the regions names but the tinternet should show something up.

hope this news from yesterday helps..
