Gonna try to fix the oil leak coming from both rocker covers this weekend, weather permitting. Have read through rave and it seems a lot of faffing about just to change a couple of rocker gaskets. Is all of it neccasary?? IE removing gas struts for the bonnet, removing /loosening coil pack bolts.
ANyone got a walkthrough for what actually NEEDS to be done?
Bearing in mnd i have a few extra pipes for the LPG running around this area anyway I didnt want the job to take forever.

You do not need to remove the bonnet gas struts. However, I have just finished changing the cylinder head on my v8 last week end. I made the mistake of fitting the upper inlet manifold before the rocker cover, luckily I had not tightened it all up......I also have LPG, so unless you are really lucky I do not see any other way around it...the rocker cover sits underneath it all and I do not beleive that there is enough clearnace to undo the bolts and slide it out.

Even if you did, I had a bitch of a time trying to ensure that the gasket stayed seated correctly all the way around on the rocker cover whilst I tried to align it properly......

unfortunately yes.....mine did not have bolts on the bottom only on top, be careful, it is easy to lose them down the back of the engine ....

OH bugger thought they looked a bit awkward. im hoping as i only want to change the rocker gaskets that i can manage to just loosen the inlet manifold enough to get to the rocker cover screws, what do you think?
