Been suffering with this problem for a while now but been too lazy to sort it out.
Oil all over the rocker cover and rest of the engine for that matter. its pushing up and through the oil filler cap. when you remover the cap you can feel hot air being blown up and out.
if anyone could shed some light it would be appreciated.

Take off cyclone breather and ensure it is clean. Either that or just replace, they're not expensive.

Not sure what engine you've got there

But when this happened to my 200 TDi

The head gasket had gone between cylinder 4 and no 7 push rod tube common fault I believe :(

I was going to suggest head gasket but I thought I had excessive pressure too as there was oil all over the place. Just needed a new cap and a new cyclone breather and that was it sorted

Not entirely sure on how the cyclone works, but it is still blowing out air, would this not suggest that is still working?

I don't think anyone is lol I think its suppose to have some kind of diaphragm inside. I replaced mine anyway as it wasn't expensive

Head gasket went on my 200tdi disco and was more of a chuffing from the oil filler cap, as the faulty cylinder fired..
