Had my series 2 for a few months now - have only just noticed that I have different wheels on front and back - SWB rims on front , LWB rims on back

So if anyone is desperate to swap a pair of SWB rims for a pair of LWB ones drop me a line

there's no rush because I am currently in the middle of swapping engines - had enough of the 6 being a 5 and managed to get a 2.5 diesel cheap enough ( well free actually so very cheap )

Do you have the same size tyres? big no-no to run dif size front and rear on a 4x4.

Not a problem in a Series until you engage 4wd. ----BB

and start it then put into gear and drive orf

they are 'sposed to be the same tyre sizes - but are actually about 2" different in radius ( or diameter - never did know the difference ) so have never put it into 4 wheel drive on tarmac , tho have tried it for a short while on the slippy stuff just to check that all was well.

changing the wheels are just one of the small jobs i need to do - such as swapping motor , gearbox ( cos its a 6 and has different input shaft to the 4 ) , rad ( rotten),drag links and idlers ( floppy steering ),exhaust ( rotten) , mid doors ( think they're catholic they are so holey ) , replacing most of the seating , new locks , steering wheel ( made of sticky tar ) , windscreens ( some numpty obviously used gravel as a de-icer ) and finally take half the body off to replace rear 1/4 panel ( same numpty obviously didn't put it on jack correctly when they tried to change a wheel ) - thats one day of 1/2 term taken care of lol

In defense of the wreck at least it was cheap ( ish )
