What a set of ****s!

Monday I ordered a Coolant Temp Sensor for me P38.

Went smoothly enough on the phone, I asked him for the 'black plug type' and he said the colour has changed to a Blue plug.

4 days later (Was posted first class by the way) it turned up this morning.

Took me old one out and as you know obviously ****ed out alot of coolant

I tried to screw the new one in and discovered (After losing most of me bastard coolant) that is was a different thread!!!

Phoned them back and it turns out that my £27.70 ****ing coolant sensor should be a different one at £6.80!

To top it all off the prick who answered the phone was blaming the 'postman' for the late delivery!!! It was posted yesterday! 3 days after i orederd the ****!!

Im never shopping there ever again!

Rant over

crikey, they've gone downhill. I've never used them for landie parts as I've always found cheaper places to buy from but used them when I had me triumph and always found them to be quick, helpful and their techinical support was always excellent. What's happened ?

Very unusual for Rimmers. I have always found them spot on both availability and delivery wise. Not the cheapest by far, but reliable, if they have it in stock it's usually next day delivery by courier.

Yes my thoughts too, I heard alot of good info about them and thought Id go for a decent (genuine) part from them and got bit in the arse! LOL!

I cant seem to find decent aftermarket parts from anywhere, its all britpart. So went for genuine part from a 'Decent' place.

Where do you recommend?

I thought £27.70 was a bit steep for a temp sensor??

give them a call and speak to someone in charge to let them know what happened. If people don't complain about bad service the guys in charge will never know and it won't get any better.

i always use either rimmers or lrseries.com both have the option for genuine or aftermarket products. i have to say every time ive used rimmers they've been good and fast delivery.

they always came across as snotty(and overpriced) when i have been to their stands at shows

I had a bit of a go mate as i were fuming earlier, tho i never spoke to a manager.

As mentioned by G-man they did seem snotty, with no customer service or concern....

Well theyve lost my custome from now, I just so ****ed off that i spent nearly £30 there as oppsed to £6! Should have known better....

did you try a motorfactor?

they only buy their parts from britpart bearmach or allmakes as all retailers do look around and ask for price of oe stuff at other places, rimmers are expensive i know as i buy parts from same places

Ok mate will do cheers! Are Allmake and Bearmach 'aftermarket' (Equivelant to Britpart?)

what even normal motorfactors??? we only do OE equivalent (intermotor/fuelparts etc)

To be honest i never thought to try the normal motorfactors round here, there is Andrew Pages?

The other motorfactors round here are all 'oldy worldy' lol!

Most good indy's would have either stock or access to basic parts like this. A really good counter-proper would know which, or how to find which best suits. Even a "new" boy should be able to access parts fiche!!
"Big" suppliers like Rimmers buy from the same place as better Indy's, but in being "big" their overheads are massive, so therefore is their mark-up on cost!

Just for balance, I bought a ton of stuff from Rimmer Bros recently and it all turned up a day earlier than expected. One of the gaskets was damaged and following a quick email a new one was receievd the next day. So far I have nothing but praise for them.

worth a try the 'olde worlde' ones will most likely stock good quality products (on the basis that they don't trade on bulk sold but quality of product served) they will most likely have a a lot of experience so will be able to help you out where someone from rim-her-brothers won't be interested in actually helping you just in getting what ever cash they can squeeze out of you...........

oh and avoid euro-car-parts they are **** to deal with and supply crap parts

britpart bearmac allmakes also are the suppliers of most genuine and oe parts as well as pattern ,and others could offer other than the pattern range ,every body retailing parts gets them from the same places
