Hello all

I have a ridiculous theory I'd like to run past your collective minds, and it is this:

The climate control system on a D2 is a stand alone ECU, temp sensors internal/external and solar load sensor and a HeVAC panel wired to an aircon compressor, fans and the requisite pipework.

Given the blower motor and heater box in a D2 sits in the same dash setup as a D1 and therefore a RRC soft dash - do you see where I'm going with this - is it feasible you could take a functioning climate control loom, sensors etc and wire it to a 300tdi compressor and a/c pipework and have it operational in a RRC?

Just thinking...

Mine doesn't have A/C and I'd like it to. I'm going to have to pull the dash out at some point anyway so this seems like a bit of an upgrade, possibly, to the original ac system.

Some have a feedback to the engine ECU to tell it to increase engine speed for the increased load of the AC Compressor....

Sounds doable, if the injection is old fashioned mechanical there is no feed back from the aircon the the engine control.
