After my front halfshaft decided to smash into the oil filter the other day, I decided that the colossal leak would be due to the dinked filter, so I changed it and refilled the oil.

Started the engine and the substantial oil leak is still there. My guess is the prop hit something else as well, but without knowing what exactly it looked like before the clunk, I can't tell what, if anything, has changed.

This is the area around the filter from below as it is now.


The leak is definitely from that area.

Engine is a 19J if that makes any difference.
Any help would be appreciated.

You had me thinking there for a moment how the hell did a halfshaft hit his oil filter...

Right the propshaft may have jiggered your oil lines that go to and from the cooler, these lines are not the best anyway and a good smack could cause them to leak.

Or its fractured the housing or something.

You are going to need to get it very clean, then start it and have a look (ware goggles!).

yeah blast it off with brake cleaner until its clean and then monitor it
