Hi All,
I’m new to all this Land Rover maintenance thing after buying my first 110 CSW a couple of weeks back. While a friend will be doing most of the mechanical stuff, the body will mainly be down to me!
Job one is replacing both the middle row doors.
I’ve decided that I’ll replace all of the exposed components so they all look nice and new! My aim is to fully refurb the interior as the existing is shabby. Considering I’m getting new doors and need new cards, I suspect there is little left that’s on show and costly! The plan is therefore to rebuild as much of the doors as possible, once they’ve been painted, and thus have little left to do on the day of fitting!
From what I’ve read to date, I suspect it will be the glass, winding mechanism, locking mechanism, the inner plate and that bar between the two glass panels (does it have a name?) that will need doing on the day. I’m not sure how much can be fitted to the new door without getting to these parts first, still got to read up on that.
Now you know what I’m looking to do, the purpose of my post is……..
I’ve found some diagrams of the door parts and Busters tutorials on locks (i realise there are no locks but it coveres a lot of the latch mechanism) and door removal, but I’d like a tutorial aimed at the full job if anyone knows of one, I’m struggling to find one.
Also, what tips do you helpful folk on here have? Is there anything you would recommend I do while doing this job?

Thanks

Neil

Sounds like you have been doing your research

Give it a go and take some pictures while you go that way you can make a tutorial after

If you have any problems you can always post up then and maybe someone can help

Hi Mark,

I'll probably take pictures as I go.
As for posting regarding problems, I was trying to avoid running in to any!

Replaced the glow plugs today and had to make three trips to Halfords for tools!
Knew I need some extra ones but bought the wrong type, so much for planning!

Still, all a learning thing for me, never done mechanics before!
