Hi All,
Im new to all this Land Rover maintenance thing after buying my first 110 CSW a couple of weeks back. While a friend will be doing most of the mechanical stuff, the body will mainly be down to me!
Job one is replacing both the middle row doors.
Ive decided that Ill replace all of the exposed components so they all look nice and new! My aim is to fully refurb the interior as the existing is shabby. Considering Im getting new doors and need new cards, I suspect there is little left thats on show and costly! The plan is therefore to rebuild as much of the doors as possible, once theyve been painted, and thus have little left to do on the day of fitting!
From what Ive read to date, I suspect it will be the glass, winding mechanism, locking mechanism, the inner plate and that bar between the two glass panels (does it have a name?) that will need doing on the day. Im not sure how much can be fitted to the new door without getting to these parts first, still got to read up on that.
Now you know what Im looking to do, the purpose of my post is ..
Ive found some diagrams of the door parts and Busters tutorials on locks (i realise there are no locks but it coveres a lot of the latch mechanism) and door removal, but Id like a tutorial aimed at the full job if anyone knows of one, Im struggling to find one.
Also, what tips do you helpful folk on here have? Is there anything you would recommend I do while doing this job?
Thanks
Neil
