When should suspension bushings be replaced? I don't know that they've ever been changed on my 1985 110. I can see that one of the bushings on the radius arm is cracked but the rest seem fine. Truck drives fine. I'm just wondering if I should proceed anyway with replacing them.

Don't think there is a definitive time period. A lot depends on how much wear and tear they've had, been through mud/sand etc for years and so on. If one is cracked the others probably won't be far behind. Even though the ride seems fine, it will probably make a big difference with new bushes. The radius and trailing arms to axle bushes are easiest pushed out with a press and the new ones put in with a press. Although there are more labour intensive and frustrating ways of replacing them ;)

Thanks. I think it probably best to replace them now.

Next question, though. I see I can get either OE rubber bushes or poly bushes. I think this largely comes down to personal preference but what are your thoughts? Interested to hear what anyone has to say before I purchase a set.

I did mine with Superpro polybushes just under two years ago and all seems well so far. Quite expensive as polybushes go, but people have complained about poor durability with the cheaper Britpart polybush sets.

Cheers, Brown. I wouldn't touch the Britpart ones, to be honest. Heard too many bad things about them. Was mainly trying to decide between Superpro and Floflex, with Superpro being a bit more expensive. Then I saw the OE rubber ones on Paddock's website and wasn't sure if that was the way to go. They are much cheaper, but sometimes you get what you pay for...

I couldn't compare because I am on my first swap. I plumbed for the OE ones as I'd read a lot about the ride being a lot harder with poly bushes. Peoples preferences are probably split 50:50
