Hi
This is my first post and a very new owner of a 89 LandRover 90 with a Discovery 2.5TDi conversion.

I'm looking at changing the headlights as they are starting to go really rusty and aren't the brightest of things. Mostly drive around country lanes. Could anybody give me any advice on a replacement and where's best to get them.

Cheers

Peter

I bought mine from Paddocks.com I bought cheepy ones and up graded the bulbs but it still was not very satisfactory. In the end I put a couple of spots on connected to the main beam. Now they are great.

Put clear lens jobbies in my series, well impressed :)

If you want to go a step further use 65 watt xenons (not hid)

The Wipac Crystal conversion kit from Paddocks gets a thumbs up.. good reports all round on that.

+1 on the crystal, i got mine off ebay for £30 delivered then installed a 50w HID in the front.... blindin ;)

+2 on the crystal, mine came with them but compared to other 7" lights I have had they are pretty good...

+3 on the wipac crystal conversion. did it about a month ago and it makes a huge difference :D just remember to seal it properly at the back to keep all the muddy ****e out

I assume i wont need to change the switch, I see on a few threads that if you go for a upgraded bulb other than a H4 then you might burn it out?

my switch has started playing silly buggers since i put 100w bulbs in.

Wait until halfords are doing a buy one get one free offer and then get their +100% brighter bulbs. They'll give you the same light output as the 100 watt bulbs but at the original 55watt draw.;)

plus 120's are even betterer ;).

Ive already gone HID instead, 35w but evil bright.

I have installed a few 50w kits over the years but they just get you flashed as they are too feckin bright. Mind.. you can give the fooker who just flashed you an all over tan by flicking to your main beams then.

There are 70w kits available now... i might try one soon... "EAT LAZER FOOL!"
