Replaced the VCU and mounts yesterday with a nice recon 1 from Bell Engineering.
What can I say, it feels so smooth to drive now, no banging when changing gears, no knocking noises in reverse.
Very happy with it so far.
Going to take it off road this weekend to see how well the rear wheels and VCU work in the mud.
