I've just replaced the clutch master & slave cylinder on my 55 plate 1.8 and wondered how much movement I should expect, if any, when used.

When the clutch pedal is depressed there is some very slight movement of the slave bracket and cylinder as it pushes against the locating arm. Is this normal ?

Mine has a slight movement as well and was newly fitted just a few weeks ago. so long as the bite point is a couple of inches off the floor and it engages/disengages properly when in use it wont be a problem.

Does the clutch actuating arm move freely or is it stiff and need lube?
