I have a piece of damaged piping around the seat in the back of my rangie. Don't know when it happened but a nasty surprise. It is approx 4 inches long and right on the corner. Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks Wammers, I thought that would be the case.
If that is all you gotta worry about on your P38 Bill, you ain't doing to bad!!

All good with the box now Bill?I wish!!! Just paid £450 getting a 4.6 V8 gearbox put in it having paid £270 for the gearbox. I have spent a load on the car, good job I love it.
Hi Keith,
Thought I had told you I got it done ??? Only picked it up yesterday but it does seem to be pretty good. Had to take to local specialist in the end as the original bloke who was going to do it disappeared like a wisp of smoke in the wind. Still, the benefit of getting it done by the local auto specialist is that he know exactly what he was doing. He used the pump from my HP22 and the first clutch out of my hp22. Gears seem to be changing as they should (Dave said his changes were a bit early)
We are going away with the caravan on Sunday so I will give you an update when we get back.
Sorry I did not let you know.
all the best
Bill
Did you fit a new torque convertor Bill?Been out for a run to Dorchester this morning without the caravan. There is a long drag of a hill on the way which often causes the car to change down, usually drops about 10 mph. Today it only dropped 5 mph and did not need to change down. Car seems to be running better too. See what happens tomorrow with the caravan in tow.
It's fair to say that when my box was playing up badly, the car did not seem to go so well and it used a smidgeon more fuel. The short answer to that is no. We had agreed to fit a recon one but he checked mine out and felt it was okay and did not need changing. So that saved me a few bob. Also said the front clutch in my old box was 'mint' so happy with that as well.
We are off tomorrow, about 160 miles so I can give you a better report then. My initial feeling is it was well worth doing even if the box was not flaring but time will tell.
