Hello,

One of the foam seals on my vent flap is no longer sticking to the flap so doesnt seat properly and leaks.

It looks straight forward to unbolt the nuts at either end of the exterior hinge pins, then remove the two bolts from under the flap which connect to the interior handle.

Is it this simple?

My Defender is a nice painted posh looking one! I dont want to f*k the paint on the nuts. Are these likley to come off with ease or are they going to be tight, locktighted on etc?

Any tips or is it just as it appears?

Thanks

Yes - that simple. I just hammered the pins out and undid the bolts visible when you lift the flap up to release from the lever mechanism

Clean the surface with meths before sticking on the new foam, and copper grease the pins before refitting
