in the process of replacing the low level screenwash sensor yesterday and as I can't get the front drivers side foglihgt out (to remove the washer pumps etc.) I'm having to remove the front bumper.

Got RAVE and as instructions so far I've:

1. disconnected drain tubers & wiring for foglights
2. removed the 2 bolts from each side of the number plate
3. freed off the 2 spring clips from the white plastic blocks on each side

wil it move, will it buggery. It wobbles a bit at the ends but the main part just will not move - is it just a case of a bit more brute force or have I missed anythinig???

It rusts to the chassis ends, it has to drop to clear the upper locating pegs before it will pull clear. A large pursuader and a soft piece of wood placed on top of the bumper followed by a hefty clout freed one of mine. On the other I had to resort to a strap and my excavator to pull it free LOL

It's the ****e that's built up around the nylon blocks that's holding it.
Clean & grease them up before you refit it.

thanks for the tip, will do although once it's back on I'm not planning on taking it off again. I'll be replacing the rusted screws holding the foglight in so I can remove that instead

well I removed the inner wheel liners (to get better access to the white plastic blocks) and almost totally removed the retaining bolts each side of the number plate and got the pry bar & hammer ready.

Gave the bumper a little tap with my hand to see if it would move and believe it or not it slid straight off. So easy, couldn't believe it.

Removed the washer bottle, fitted the new low level sensor and drilled out & replaced the rusty foglight screws. copper greased the back of the plastic blocks & refitted, replaced the inner wheel liners and put the wheels back on. Total job time less than 2 hours (including bacon butty & coffee break).

So pleased that I also changed out the blown bulbs on the HEVAC unit and again the side panels etc. all came out really easy - only took 1/2 hour.

My first time out with the spanners & screwdrivers on the rangie and impressed with how they are put together (and how easy to take apart).

So I now have a P38 where EVERYTHING WORKS!!!!! - don't know how long that will last but today a very happy chappy - now off to fill up with gas as Morrisons have just dropped their price by 2p/ltr, now 67p/ltr
