Hi All,
might not be the area where to post it, still trying to get used to the forum.

I've got a d1/def 90 hybrid, and the other day while i was driving it the alternator belt broke.
replaced it, not a problem, but ever since it doesn't start all the time.

there is power going thru, the radio and everything else switches on, but sometimes instead of turning the engine on there a "click" noise from the relay.

from what i can see, underneath the fuse box there are 3 of them, very old, and from what i can tell the "click" noise comes from one of them 3.

but because they are so old, can't read the code on them, it's an '89 200 ti engine.

does anyone have any idea?

many thanks in advance

Lucian

Try replacing the relays as they are only few pounds a piece. That said I had a strange fault with the exact symptoms as you some time ago, turned out to be related to the brake check relay (which is one of the three most likely that you describe) which stopped the car turning over. The actual problem was a loose connection to the brake fluid level switch :(, pushed the spade connector back on and no probs since......I have the 200 tdi engine....
