Just fitted a new steering guard the tube one. Looks ace but it used my jate ring holes to fit! How do I go about installing a new front recovery point?

Grind a little off the inside of both sides of your jate rings and refit em

right as you can see below thats the steering guard, if i was to get the jate rings back on - on recovery they would bend the steering guard!! Is there another front option recovery using my standard bumper?

I used slightly longer bolts and the original type (but galv) towing points.

My steering guard is the slab of metal with holes in type though. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Mine fits on the outer side not inside otherwise it would have been easy has anyone else tried the swivel eyes that go through the bumper

The swivel eyes wont work on a standard bumper unless you beef it up with some heavy 5-6mm plate on the inside of the bumper.

The standard bumper is to thin the swivel eyes will just pull straight through.

mundungus, that is NOT a recovery eye! And It is highly recommened you DO NOT use those eyes for recovery. They are intend as "tie down" points formilitary use.

yup.

I would make sure that plate is as close the the chassis rails/ bumper mounting points as possible though!

I would also only rely on this for "light" recovery. You wouldnt want to be snatching off of those!

Not at all mate! it would be for light recovery untill i get a winch bumper! Not planning to getting TOO stuck! haha

Get yourself a pair of military recovery points, they bolt on top of the front bumper, using the bolts that fix the bumper to the chassis plus a couple of extra ones. Paddocks sell them new, or ebay 150838380390. They fit all Defenders not just series ones.
