My bulbs seem to be quite poor and yellow in colour on my 90. I am going to check the earthing but was wondering what else you guys use without going to hids.

Got halogens. I know, sacrilege but they are so much better and a friend of mine who pimps cars did them for me for free. Before that I used Philips.
 
I got the Ring +120%'s but they now do a 150% one, excellent bulbs and cheap had them for a year now
 
any of the brand named bulbs that claim 130% or 150 % brighter.

tis worth checking what voltage is actually getting to the bulbs... fitting some relays so the bulbs actually get 12 volts can make a big difference if youve got dodgy wiring.

Certainly going to check the power thats getting to them as the wiring in this one was dismal when i got it, but from what i remember with my old defender the lights were pretty poor anyhow.

will get a few of these choices and see what works out best.

Make sure the reflectors are not dull ellse bulbs will not help
 
sure thing.
i'm used to splitting and cleaning lenses as tried many on my car now. but i know what its like going through god knows how many sets of bulbs to find something decent so this will help narrow all that down i hope.
 
Ensure that yu do the relay mods, in the FAQ section to protect your stalk and to ensure that you get full power to the lights.
 
I've found that the stork wires have melted casings and have stripped and re cased for now.
Makes you wonder why though doesn't it??
I also have no intermittent and no high speed on wiper so need to sort that.
I'm thinking to just get a whole new stork/ steering column and transfer over
