So, I went out on a really dry sinky beach yesterday evening and I almost got STUCK!!!!!!!

I was all by myself with no cell phone.:D

So, I want a winch. All I need is something that can pull my 90 out of sand. Nothing ellaborate but must be reliable.

I guess I will also need a bumper?

Thanks.

And you will attach one end of the winch cable to a dolphin perhaps?

You can send the wench this way if you like - I've got some nuts that need tightening. Oh, sorry - thought you said "wrench".

You can improvise a sand anchor from your spare wheel if you know what you're doing.
Used this technique loads of times in the Algerian Sahara.
Dig a hole three feet deep big enough to lay the wheel flat in. Securely attach a short length of chain, nylon strop, rope, or whatever to the wheel. Bury the wheel. Attach your winch/tirfor to the short bit which hopefully you left above the surface when you burried the wheel. Winch away. Dont forget to dig the wheel up when you're done. Simples.

Dont forget most winchs only have 30 meters of cable which isnt actually a lot especially on a beach.

good advise, i'll have to remember that :5bhurray:

tirfor not good with an incoming tide.unless your moters watertight then just let it wash ashore

AWESOME winch but possible overkill (overbudget) for this situation?

A Goodwinch TDS goldfish or Superwinch EPi 9 would be more than capable for the requirement and but still good and reliable winches?
i got the giggle pin 8274 on the front and the epi9 on the rear the superwinch is good and would be suitable for most applications, but nothing comes close to the gigglepin 8274 although i only have the single motor version:doh::D
