I've started to notice the odd puddle off oil where i park my landy. and from what i've read its not too uncommon, but today i noticed a knocking noise while idle (and only when the engine is warm!) so i decided to pull up and have a look and there is oil all down the side off the engine and also the TOP off the oil filter is covered too, im guessing its where its been dripped on.

would i be correct in assuming this is the gaskets and if it is how easy is it to replace?

p.s. i know the pics arnt too clear but the oil can be seen in the center off the pics coming from the top off the engine.

Rocker cover's your first port af call. Easy and cheap to replace, that said... it looks the same as mine but I'm not worried by it.
As for the noise, I would'nt of thought it's related.
