okay - so after a weekend (and some good, some not so good welding practice) I've got my rear cross member installed (Thanks Clive!).

everything turned out pretty good. The chassis wasn't as rotten as I thought it might have been and tail ends that I had cut off weren't too bad. That said the cross member was toast. some parts I didn't even have to cut! it was a long two days over the weekend but its done. Thanks to everyone who in the past had posted pictures/etc - they were all a really big help.

A few things:

Any suggestions on how to stress test the joints? I was going to jack it up and jump on it to see but thought even some doggy welds would still hold (not that I'm that bad of a welder)

Now that I'm reassembling - at least in bits an bobs over the next couple of weeks. I've been searching tonight and can't find the replacement supporting beams for the rear bed. Not AFC710010 but the other longer ones. Can you get these separate or do you need them with the floor? Both are rotten but I was thinking of something a little more sturdy than the thin ali (maybe checker) and thought I could build my own but the runners are rotten.

Thoughts?

what about using something like 20mmx50mm box for the rails, you can get it in galv to
