Good evening oh knowledgeable ones!

Now that I appear to have sorted my EAS, I am going to spend the weekend tackling the next gremlin on my 1998 V8; the rear wash wipe. The wiper has complete function, but despite having a full reservoir, no wishy washy fluid comes out! Well actually, that's a lie, the tiniest drop of fluid egresses from the twirly whirly nozzle, but only enough to cause severe smudging of the accrued mud and cow poo! I can hear the wishy washy pump giving it billy-oh under the bonnet, but by the time it gets to the back end nowt is happening! I have tried the needle up the nozzle thingamajig and that hasn't resolved matters. So that dear fellows is, in a nut shell my challenge this weekend!

My question is simply this; has anybody experienced this problem and dealt with it? Any tips of suggestions will, as always, be gratefully received.:D

Mine did this recently and the jet was bunged up with dirt. I got a needle and pushed it through the opening, all good now.

Edited to add - didn't read your post properly! If you've tried the needle trick then I'm not sure really.

See if you can find the tube end under the bonnet which goes to the back, disconnect it, and disconnect the rear one, then use a large syringe (cooking one) to try and force any muck through. You could also try a hosepipe if you can get the lead clear of the engine bay..
If the needle hasn't worked then the blockage could be anywhere in the tube

theres a little valve in the pipe from washer tank to the washer jet near the passenger back light(look behind the light cover you may have to take the sub out cant remember),its a one way jobbie and probably knackered and letting the water flow back to the tank.

I have the same problem tried all i could think of to no use, when it was having some work done at the garage i asked them to have a look they said they traced it to electrical fault in the bsu:confused:, least i think that's what they called it said it would be expensive to put right. As at the moment not mot issue, i just wash it when it's raining:D not sure if what they reported was correct sure someone on here will be able to confirm though.

Sounds like wishy washy bollocks if the pump runs:rolleyes:

I had to remove the jet and give it a reverse blow job with an air line to clear mine:eek:

My blockage was the non return valve behind the near side rear lights stuck shut. You can reach it by groping through the small removable hatch, it looks / feels like a 5p sized round thingey in the tube up behind the foam insulation. I thought mine was bunged up with dried washer fluid. I blew mine through from the pump end with my electric tyre pump - it shot up to 40psi, cleared the blockage and then blew through at 10psi. It's been fine since. These are the sorts of jobs that make P38 ownership satisfying.

The valve is the same as those under the bonnet. Just in case you need to see what you are looking for. Got a few spare here somewhere. Local stealer gave me those instead of the small white connecter for the headlight wash wipe.

Okey Dokey chaps, quite a few things for me to consider there, thanks very much, I am now fully RAVEd and ready to tackle it tomorrow as it's footie time! Looking forward to this next challenge, and then I can move on to the BECM issues I am having EEK!

:5bparty: He-he wish-washy now washy :5bparty:

Time now to concentrate on the dreaded BECM....and really, on this subject, I dunna have a clue....:screaming_bug_eye_f:screaming_bug_eye_f
