Ive been looking through the search bar but can't hit what I'm trying to find out. The rear electric windows on my es seem to have stopped working. I recently replaced the isolator switch for a new one (not used)so I know it's not that causing the problem. It started off that both windows would work intermittent but now neither work. I check the fuses the other day and that was fine.

you checked the actual switches?

I'm guessing it will be the ecu, a dry joint common fault, it takes 20 mins to do,

If you do a search for 300 Tdi eletric window ecu fault or words to that effect there are some good photo guides

It's a little bit fiddley but not brain surgery

Can't see that both switches would go at the same time but stranger things have happened. But I will look into the dry joint. Thank you

Fanbloodytastic I'll whip that out over the weekend and reflow all the solder joints as I have all the stuff I need to do a proper repair on it. Thank you

Just did my window ecu using the instructions in the link to solder the joint!
Plugs were very difficult to remove but its done!!!

Absolutely spot on, i had exactly the same problem, followed this link and 15 mins later hey presto. Many thanks to all, i had already checked absolutely EVERYthing else and would of never in a million years learn't about this dry joint thingy.. I love this site and the people on here .
