Hi all
The rear speakers aren't working, rather only the front "tweeters" seem to work and the bigger speakers in the front door don't work either. So I wondered if it might be the amplifier.

Does it have it's own fuse? I can't see a fuse for it listed in the handbook.

Could it be dead?

Or is it the speakers/wiring/a connection...? Who knows! Unless it sounds familiar to someone here who has had the same issue...!

Thx

It's more likely to be the door speakers. These are known to get wet, which destroys them. This theory is proved on the front with the tweeters still working, as these are on the same wiring as the main speakers.

I would also check the connectors to the amp as well first as its under the passenger seat and maybe a connector has become dislodged by seat movement or wayward feet.

what year is it ? when I brought mine the speakers were not working either and Stratstones agreed to change the wires and they knew they had a problem with them as they are cheap Chinese stuff , But try cleaning the wire ends and that might do it.

When I got the Freelander for my wife only the tweeters worked and one big speaker.

Took the door cards off and the plug which went into the big speakers was wet and the connections corroded.
I cleaned the connectors with a file and they all sprung back into life. - Easy fix (in my case!)
