Recently, I replaced all 4 ball joints, shock absorbers and a polybush kit.

I was unaware the kit contained replacements for the rear radius arms but luckily for me ..... they did.

See attached what my mechanic found when he came to replace one of the rear bushes.
This appears to have been broken for some time and would have been hard to spot without removing the arm to replace the bush.

Luckily also...Emmotts had one in stock & with one phone call & next day delivery all is now fixed.

Thanks to Emmotts & thanks especially to polybush kit.

Lucky lad, could have been a little interesting if that had gone at speed.

I am no Metatlurgist, but to me that looks to fresh and could have been done with heavy handed removal...there appears not to be much oxidation or discolourment of the crack faces to me!

If you look at the second picture, there are white oxidised deposits on the metal surface where it has been chipped/scuffed previously....

Looking at the crack face, there are no such oxidised marks evident, BUT as I say I am not a metalurgist just reporting an opine is all!

It is, looking at it, on the upper surface so would have been dificult to spot in anycase....it may even have been an overjealous MOT tester and his pry bar checking the bushes that did it, as it would take an downward force or a rearward tug to crack it at the top like that...

Oh, and it was my not Wammers that made the comment, but I take pride in being mistaken for such a great man
