I've learned a valuable lesson here. My answer was based on my own Freelander which I removed the propshafts from a fully serviceable vehicle. All the answers bar mine are very correct and I'm grateful that I didn't attract a load of verbal, but rightly deserved, abuse. Thanks guys and apologies to Suz for my misleading statement.

Well I picked her up yesterday.... just to clarify, when I said prop shaftS, that is because I assumed there would be 2 for each wheel, but now its been explained.. yes its only one prop shaft.. it is a 'doozil'...

I was told for general road use it will drive better, and more economically without it on..

He is more than happy to fit it for me next weekend, just so I can decide whether or not to keep it on.. but he thinks for the light off road it will do, there is no point...

So.. I have bought the car, and will be taking it back to have it fitted probably next weekend.. I know your probably thinking I am mad... but dad does trust him, and if there is a problem, he won't see me wrong.. the car was a really good price.. (not sure who I am trying to convince here me or everyone on here!) hehe

No need to apologise to me... I assumed that would have been the case.. yours is fine, but you chose to take it off.. so no worries
