hi all just bought a k plate disco..got a smae porblem with the rear door. The central locking fuse blew a couple off weeks backan every since the rear door wont open any ideas.. the key wont even turn in the lock.......oh its a 3dr

Prise the Land Rover badge off with a screwdriver and squirt in with some WD40, it may help free the mechanisim.

cheers for that.. now i got the door open, just one more problem. when i lock o unlock the disco the rear lock wont engage or disengage any ideas/

if i pull the lock pin inside i can open the door from outside it just don't unlock with the central locking

bit of advice on changing the spring , take a few pictures of how it all fits together BEFORE you pull it apart , even mobile phone taken pics are good enough to remind you where all the bits go when you are putting it back together , and you might want to buy some more of the plastic door studs that hold the door card on as the little feckers always snap off when you remove the card .

By the way are you absolutely sure the spring is gone ?
symptoms of the dreaded spring gone usually include ; lock opens with central locking but then drops back down a little causing the door to not open or only open to the first latch and stick there neither shut nor open.
also you can open from outside using key turned to the right to "hold" the lock button up. those were the symptoms on mine when my spring was gone .

BUT , if i read your post correctly you say it doesn't work with the central locking and that your central locking fuse went a couple of weeks ago i would recommend taking off the door card and checking your central locking actuator is working , you should see it move or try to move when you plip the remote .

New one is not cheap , may be worth getting second hand or buy the basic maplins unit which can be easily made to fit , and remember that the back door actuator is different to the ones in the passenger compartment doors so don't get the wrong 'un .
