Gotta get in the garage and fit new hub seals to the O/S rear hub tomorrow as they've been leaking for a fair while but it's started getting pretty bad now. Just wanted to try and get a solid answer as to the correct way to fit each seal as various guides/other forum posts seem to conflict each other - especially with some of the pics.
So the inner 'grease' seal - FTC4785 - has on it "This way to stub axle", so is this towards the base of the stub axle (towards centre of the axle) or towards the end of the stub axle (towards the wheel)?
Now the outer 'oil' seal - FRC8222 - with the spring around the lip, again does the spring side face inwards towards the centre of the axle or outwards towards the wheel?
Just want to be sure so I can get it done quick, and don't trust that current ones have been put in the right way round to start with.
Oh, and any advice on what to drift the seals in with without the use of an old bearing race?
Ta.
